    Paint Color For Spoke Hubs?

I want to paint a '78GS1000 rear hub and would like to have it as close to original as possible. Has anyone found a paint color that is close? Looking at pictures it seems the hubs are close to the engine color so maybe VHT engine paint would be a good match?

    Thanks,
    Joe

I don't remember mine being painted. Thought it was just raw aluminum.

Mine are bare aluminum, although finely coated with a mix of brake dust, dried chainlube and mud.

Perhaps spray the rims with a urethane matte clear coat?
