How much "straighter" do you want?
Peel the cover off, shave it with a sharp knife, pull the cover back down.

To answer your question, the '78 and '79 seats are a direct replacement if you can find one.
The '77 & '78 750 seats will also fit.

On a similar vein, would the flatter seat from a 650 G fit on the frame of my 650GL? I noticed the frame rails are flat, I wonder if just the mounting points are different...

Not to jump on everybody else's train, but I've also been looking for a direct replacement for the ugly (yet comfy!) seat for my gs450L...1980/1981 GS450 - GS500 Cylinder + Piston Swap - "De-L'ed", custom seat, CB350 bits, 18" rear, etc.
