    Saddlebags?

I own soft saddlebags by Cyclegear, and they are fastened by two velcro straps that go under the seat. I used these for my '06 Katana I had a while ago, and they worked great. I'm having a problem now finding a way to put them on. They are almost too big for the bike, because it sits right on top of the exhaust pipe, and it almost burned a hole through it (wasn't paying attention ). Is there a better/secure way to put saddlebags on my bike? Should I buy slightly smaller ones? My current ones are like a soft vinyl, but have padding in them to give them their shape and support.

One issue with trying to put them under the seat is they block the gap between the seat and the frame, which prevents the seat from locking down into position. I'm surprised you were able to use them UNDER the seat.

If you are having issues with them drooping, you could try to find a bracket that would support them, otherwise throw them over like the example

Here is what I did for the bags on my wife's bike, but her bags are mounted all the time:

Problem is I have a supertrapp exhaust, and it's 360 degrees of hot exhaust. So anything that puts it close is bad news. I have receiving buckle ends for my saddlebags, but no buckle straps, so I bet that's why I always put them under the seat. I've never had the extra buckles to do it right it seems

The problem that many of us have noticed is that NOTHING is available, so we must get creative and MAKE brackets.

True perhaps. I had a great exchange with Big Rich regarding how he fashioned hardbag mounts for his 450.
