    Headlight bracket

Anyone use this? Looking for something different for a headlight bracket, plus mine is rusted so why not change it up some. Not bad for price but will they fit 82 GS1100GL?

    Measure your forks.

The item in the link fits 28-34mm forks, as I recall, your forks are 37.

You want stock replacements? I think I have a pair.

I have similar ones on my bmw which has 36mm forks. I got mine from dimecitycycles. They are for 35-38mm diameter forks. Not sure what the diameter is on your 82 GS1100GL.

They work ok, but I'm not in love with them. But for a cheap option, I haven't had any problems. I had to bend the smaller bracket so that it would clamp properly on the forks.

I am going to order this from dimecity http://www.dimecitycycles.com/2-5-in...or-lights.html. How was your experience with them as in shipping etc...Going with drag bars and this speedometer and a Tach to clean up the front. My headlight bracket is all rusty from the PO neglecting it. It's a shame from what I am reading these are great bikes and the PO just let it sit there for many years.

I found my mounts, if you are interested in stock chrome ones.

Also have the stock chrome housing for the L, which is the smaller 6" light.

Let me know if you are interested, I can send some pictures.

Chrome housing? I have a 82 GS1100GL if that matters any? Can you send some pics so I know what part it is and see if mine needs replacing, also with a price. Will the speedometer work with ratio on mine? Putting this beast back together/better than before piece at a time. lol.
              Thanks

I've ordered quite a bit from them and have always had good service. I did have an issue with a shipment getting lost once (I've probably made 10 different orders or so) and after a call they immediately sent me a new one.

Good to hear only one issue and they resolved it asap. Will be ordering the speedometer and drag bar from them tomorrow. Shipping time was decent with tracking info?

I have two pair, both of them look like this:

                    The chrome headlight bucket:

Actually, I have two of them, too. One has a sealed beam light from a 450T, the other has an H4 light from a 650L.

How about $15 for either pair of mounts and $20 for either headlight bucket.

None of this will fit in a small flat-rate box, they have to go in a Medium box, which ships for $12.65.

Don't have a speedometer here, but most GSes (not sure about the couple that had 16" front wheels) have a 2240:60 ratio.

The stock stuff is nicely rubber cushioned and IMO, a much better thing to have. I've had high frequency vibes pop the headlight in the past on these 4 bangers.

I had one welded so that there is room for 2 headlights,
