When I dipped my 1150 carbs (24 plus hour soak- they were BAD), every bit of paint came off.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

I have also dipped some (factory) black carbs, they came out silver.

VHT Caliper Paint does a wonderful job of putting your choice of color back on them.

nice purchase I'm sure you will love it.

I bought this one for my 82 and had a local shop install it for me. I had no complaints from the upholsterer, and I am happy with the result.

So, it sounds like Silver is the new Black for the 83' carbs.

After a closer look, I think the mirrors are original. So, I think it is just the pipes and the bars.

I did get an extra seat without tears but it is not an original cover. I seem to always want to keep the original look.

So, the short list of needs is pipes, center stand and seat........minty please!

Need to see more pics of the rear of the pipe, like a side view of the back half to tell what the system is. If it IS a V&H, it is actually a decent system & would look good blasted & ceramic coated black.

I could be very interested in that pipe you have there for the right price. Let me know what you wanna do with it after you replace it...

Definitely V & H as it still has it's badge. It is a nice sounding pipe and will cleanup nice. However, I will keep my eye open for a set of OEM pipes. I could also be tempted with a SS Supertrapp...........my all time favorite pipe.

It is a 750T with a 16 valve 1100 crammed in it. I call it a lot of fun...

I'm surprised you don't have dual discs on that 'fun machine' I can't imagine it's got much stopping power.
