77 GS 400 seat VS. 77 750 seat
Buddy has the 77 400 and the seat cover pattern is the same as the one on my 77 750. Fiches show 2 different part numbers, but we were both wondering if they are both the same seat cover. His pan and hardware are servicable but the cover needs replaced. Just want to be sure before he gets looking at maybe a Pit replica cover.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.Tags: None

They're shaped differently so it may not fit properly. Take a look at this ad from 77. Ad-1977-8.jpg

Probably best if he takes whats left of the cover on it now to an upholstery shop and have them just make one.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I bought one off of eBay. Shipped from England. Looks original, but the rear bead isn't quits perfect, but otherwise it's a very good replica of the original.
