Bubble fairing

One thing I've discovered about the old style bubble windscreen, they don't deflect the airstream up and away. When I sit up normally the air flows over them smoothly and right into my chest.
When I crouch very low and just peek over the edge of the bubble I get the maximum protection.
The 1990 GSX750F windscreen is designed to deflect the the airstream up and away. It's much smaller but I can sit up and not feel much wind in my chest.1982 GS1100G- road bike

no, i was doing random google searches and stumbled across this.. thought it was funny since i considered this fairing for my old gs, i only didnt get it because i was leery of how itd look on a gs.. i have to say, i should have done it LOL
i have considered possibly using the upper section of the xr69 for that old school look, but im keeping the factory tail so my girlfriend can ride with.. i am going to get another gs before the years out... this would be a serious option now that ive seen it.

82-GS1100G with Ducati half fairing
Sure Brandon!
I have Chinese made clip ons. Took some work to fit the fairing to the clip ons, and fabricate struts. Reinforced the fiberglass fairing too.

I know this thread is a little dead but I finally have my '79 gs1000 carbs close and ran some long high speed stuff and thinking a bikini fairing would be nice.. So I'm slowly shopping..
And more importantly, Brandon, did you get the GXR or katana front end on the '80 gs1000 and sell the bike?> I'm still looking to install the '97 kat 600 front end and wheels on my '79 gs1000. But it has to be an upgrade in ride performance/./ any snags??1979 gs1000e (everyday) 1977 gs750 for sale

nice seat & fairing
Bill, I really like what you did with that seat. I cut mine similar but not as low in the front and still had some trouble fitting the seat cover. which cover did you use?
