82 650 seat cover, metal pan

I have a seat cover in the mail and i was looking at my seat and I realized it has a metal seat pan. How hard is it to staple new cover into metal? Also what kind of foam would indeed to use to replace old worn out foam? Where do you guys buy it ?

Take another look at your pan, it does not use staples.

There are pointed barbs that you need to straighten out a bit to remove the old cover, then stretch the new cover over, so it will be held by the points, then bend them back down.

Thanks Steve, after looking at the seat pan again I noticed the metal barbs. I'm afraid that several may be rusted to their breaking point. Is there another way to secure the seat cover? Like a strong epoxy or a glue. Thanks for your responses Steve.

self-tapping screws with washers. Need say, short ones, so they can't pierce through to cover
