    Post your cutom paint jobs

Going to be repainting my tank in the near future, was thinking I might just do a simple two tone scheme like below (black instead of white to make the chromed Suzuki logo stand out):

Post up your custom paint jobs you've done (or had done) that you think are especially pleasing to the eye.

That is awesome! I wish I had the talent to add artwork like that to my bikes, or the money to pay someone talented to do it.

Thank you. The artwork takes some practice but the right techniques and use of stencils helps a lot. As for the finish, I've seen remarkable work done with simple aerosol "2K" clear which mixes the catalyst with the clear right in the can and gives about 2 hours of spray time before it solidifies in the can. Also have used a $14 spray gun from Harbor Freight to get a nice clear coat down. Practically disposable.

I used the 2K clear on mine. Remarkable how well a rattle can can lay a coat out...

Not exactly custom, but nice use of the two tone idea I think.

I guess you could call them "custom" because they are non-stock, but here are the two that I have.

OK, we still have one, but have sold the other. My son has sold his 650L, but it went to a friend, so we still see it regularly.
I guess I need to update my signature.

                  Son's (former) 650L:

                  And my wife's 850L:

It used to be Black and charcoal gray, was in pretty sad shape. Went with different colors, basically in the stock pattern.

                  .

I like your Green Kawasaki better than your Orange one. "No officer it wasn't him. The guy that wheelied pass me was on a green motorcycle" 😀

This motorcycle is not mine, but it caught my attention enough for me to take its picture.👍

A TL1000 I work on every now and then. He had me recently remove all the fairings a gave the painter free rain on it. I was more than a little nervous putting a fresh painted bike back together. Especially something like that which would be a nightmare to touch up.

I don't blame you. That's a lot of nice work there. One good thing about freestyle artwork though is that you can cover mistakes with more artwork and usually make it look like it belongs.

I use that rattle can 2K clear as well. Not sure why, but mine was usable for almost 5 days afterwards!

Wow. That's surprising but actually I've never used it myself--just seen the results and read the product details.
