    750ES fairing repair

I’m looking at an 83 ES that has some small fairing damage and am wondering what is used to repair it? Is it plastic or fiberglass?

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Fiberglass and plastic don't mix. The fiberglass shrinks and expands differently and will eventually let go. If the fairing is ABS, then using simple 2-part plastic epoxy in the dual syringe type applicator available at any hardware store works great. It's basically the same material. Get the stuff that dries in 10 minutes. Clean and sand the affected areas with at least 80 grit sandpaper, even V out a break on both sides with a Dremel, and apply. It sands really well and blends in very nicely. Strong, easy repair that lasts forever. Plastic welding also works of course, but you have to buy the equipment. The epoxy is a good alternative...and, inexpensive, too.
