    '83 GS850GL -- Side Covers Emblems Removal?

My Right side GS850L emblem has become bent -
It caught on my pants leg last year and I can not seem to gently force it back to 'flat' (flush)
So I want to remove it before it breaks or does damage to the side cover--
I have the nuts off the back posts ; but it doesn't come off -
I suspect it may be sticky taped to the side cover ?
Anyone having suggestions -- I am willing to listen --
I currently own a 2nd set of side covers ; but they do not match and the bike doesn't look as nice -
So I want to remove the emblem and at least retain the color match of the unique Suzuki Blue found on my unicorn

I will try dental floss and WD40 tonight to see if I can make a positive affect -

    Your thoughts ? Please share

      Got it

      Got it done -
I used a little bit of WD40 and some dental floss -
The floss cut through the 'glue' the previous owner has used so liberally
And the WD40 cleaned off the excess -
I DID use a wooden shim to gain a little leverage and pull up the emblems -
I wedged it under the edge gently and used the taper to pry it up ever so slightly -
      It worked a wonder --
Here she is with the GS850L emblem off
