Can you polish the textured part of mags?
Just curious for a winter project. Can the spokes and textured parts of the 80's mags be polished? Would the std compund+elbow grease then polish+elbow grease be the way to go?Tags: None

Yes you can but it will never look quite as flash as a smooth area, after polishing. BTW buy an 8" bench grinder and polishing wheels , it makes it heaps easier.

Use a hand held "die grinder" or dotco. You can get them from Harbor Frieght plug it into your air compressor and have at it.

Of course they can..... best thing to do is:- get them bead blasted.... then mask off the areas that you want to be polished then get them powdercoated, remove the tape and work at them with soap/water and 400 sandpaper and gradually go higher with the grade and you will have mirror wheels.
Check my wheels at GS1000G PICS uploaded in the forum...
