Are these handlebars stock or aftermarket? 1980 GS 1000G

Not a fan of these bars, a bit too much rise for me. Are these aftermarket? Doesn't really matter. Just curious. Looking online I see some that look similar and some that are lower.

    Thanks, Dan

They look pretty stock to me.

I have a 1000G and an 850G here (same bars) for measurements, if you need them.

The 850s, 1000s and many other street bikes were sold with higher bars in the US market. Euro bikes had lower bars generally, the exception being the obvious factory custom models.
I suppose the higher bars were a perceived marketing need to sell into a market that wanted to go on long trips, on straight roads.
Not even sure if the lower bars were offered as an option when purchasing the bike new.

I wonder just how many of the high-bar bikes only ever spent their lives on short urban trips at the weekends, where lower bars would have been better.

I have those on my 82 650 too. They are not so bad..they allow a comfortable ride behind a fairing and a longer reach for shorter people when tilted back. I wouldn't throw them away but on the naked bike most might prefer a slightly lower bar to suit the stance of these bikes
