Gs 550e 1980 - seat pan to save

I have my spare normal seat on currently but
my "giuliara seat and cover" needs repair.

stripped down today , rubbed down and
is ok I think when resprayed to have a new cover on.
foam ok , all rubber bungs etc and fixings ok.

treated with phosphoric acid and will spray up soon.

    q) the cover catch prongs are ok but on 3 at rear per side.
is there a knack to installing a new cover ?
type of glue as prongs only at rear of seat ?

    q) sound the bottom edge there is some u shaped
plastic to cover hard edge prob 1mm edge.
where can I get this ?

I see now how to attach cover.
I put a url of a company that supplies the covers and
the pop rivet spike strip to do so.
As my seat pan will be rust free and side are sound I'll use this
      method.

I still need the plastic edging strip

I used one of his covers + spike strip, very happy with it but what ever you do, do not follow his video way of pop riveting from the inside of the seat pan as the rivets will protrude to the outside and show through the cover and likely penetrate it, rivet from the opposite side so the rivet head is on the outside of the seat

If you can't find the pukka Zuk stuff, use some door edge trim - like this stuff...

There's also an endless assortment of types and sizes of plain door-edge trim in millions of cars in breakers up and down the land, so you can have a rummage and see what fits.
The majority of door edge seals are like these types...
Door and boot seals, edge trim, rubber and sponge extrusions, window weatherstrip and channels

If you are meaning the very small rubber trim that fits on the pan edge (under the seat cover to stop it chaffing the cover) it's called u channel rubber trim or sheet metal edge trim.
if you mean the trim after the cover is on p&k classic sells some its on the bottom of this page

most of his pictures are not great it would be better if it shows the edge profile.
Grimly's looks a cheaper option though

Yes your on the right lines, when you receive the cover he will have enclosed instructions on how to fit the cover just follow
those. He recommends you also stick down the edges of cover with contact adhesive or glue gun after bending over the spikes which is what I did again in instructions.

Seat pan top side . rubbed down , rust treated , sprayed with
2 coats screw fix zinc spray (as wont be seen)

(I use this as its rock hard chem resistant
                      and no need for primer)
