Well it's done... I'd have liked to have got the final coat on a bit thicker & perhaps just a fraction less temperature outside to let it flow out... but in general I'm happy. Got to cut it back & polish it back up now...

Looks good! Getting the placement of the pinstripes in the right spot has to a challenge.
          1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)
          1982 GS450txz (former bike)
LONG list of previous bikes not listed here.

What I found was the doing one side is easy enough but when it came to matching exact decal placement on the opposite side that was really frustrating.

Yeah, it's not super simple but I have a reasonable "eye" for that kind of thing & to be honest you will never see the two together by definition, apart from the ones that come back down the tank when you're sitting on it....

I laid the factory stripes to my Honda over the Duplicolor, then sprayed the clear. I gave it about a week before I put down the clear coat and made sure any bubbles were out first.

true we normally only see one side at a time but we are our own worst critics. it bothers the hell out of me if I mess up and doubly reinforced if someone else also notices the discrepancy and points it out.

You could always put the emblems back on and leave it the way it is. Looks more like a factory paint job with a bit of orange peel in it. It turned out nice. You should feel good about it.

Run it as a Q-bike without emblems. Give suckers a bit of a surprise at the traffic light GP.
