82 gs750e - Back rest/Back rack from 1980 GS1000? Will it fit my 82?

I'm looking at a back rest/rack off a 1980 GS 1000 - wondering if it will work on my 82 gs 750e??

There's a very good chance it will.
If the front fastens on to the top of the shocks and there's a second fixing further to the rear, the rearward one is bolted/swivelled and usually of the necessary length and bend to suit whatever bike it was sold for. Not to say all of them were like that, but it was a common enough method of doing it back then. Meant the rack makers only had to make one and it would fit many models.
On mine, I could take the rack off my GS and fairly easily fit it to the XS, with simple new brackets for the rearward positions. They're nothing fancy, just a bit of bent steel with a couple of holes.
