Well what do you know, I finally got it.
I retract the comment about being too stoopid. (and no, that's not up for debate)........Larry

I re-read Bob's post #9 where he mentioned getting the bbcode then just copy and paste.
I could highlight the code but then couldn't figure out how to get the copy prompt to come up. It was quite slow but I was able to click on copy, then opened the forum tab and was able to see the code just waiting to be pasted.
Another new trick taught to an old dog.Last edited by alke46; 12-01-2021, 11:50 PM.Larry

That's great Larry! Glad it clicked for you.
And yes, it is a little fiddly. It took me some time to figure it out.Bob T. ~~ Play the GSR weekly photo game: Pic of Week Game

No, it apparently doesn't bother them. Don't know what the driller person does to ensure the tree remains healthy.Larry

I could be wrong, as I often seen to be, but I believe when they core-drill a tree, they use a hollow bit that is about 1/4" diameter that will pull out a sample that shows the "rings" of the tree. Sort of like a long skinny hole saw.
That way they can count the rings and see how old it is?? Too small to really do any harm I guess???Ron
When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

I think you are right Ron. I have seen footage of something that looks pretty small like you describedLarry

Just wondering, should I delete this thread now that I finally got it, or leave it here so it could be a help to others that struggled like I did?Larry

Definitely leave it here. New people, and even old-timers, are often asking the same questions. This just adds to the info in the archives. And the title of your thread is good for a keyword search.Rich

Ok, will leave it here.
Best suggestion I would offer anybody needing help is to look back at posts #9 and #12.
Two very helpful posts from Bob aka Baatfam.Larry
