Minimalist guage pods?

I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed, but I really think the single guage setup on the Yoshimura Katana 1135R makes the bike look a lot better.

The guage cluster no longer dominates the top of the bike like a standard one does. So does anybody know how to go about converting guages? What the goal would be is either a single tach with digital speedo readout or a dual speedo/tach setup that eliminates the bulky greater cluster. Ideas?

I love the original gauges on the Katana's...they made it look so cool compared to our crappy gauges. :x

I'm thinking that it should be fairly simple. Notice how they just used a sheet metal panel to mount the dash lights? That seems easy. I just want to know how the circuitry for it worked so that all the wattages are right.

Does anybody know of a universal mechanically driven tach with digital speedo readout?

Bike speedometer mounted between the bar clamps, and then use a little bit of sheetmetal to mount the stock tach.

Yeah that's definitely the way I'm looking to go now. I'm still in search of the perfect bike speedo. I'm probably going to mount it undernearth the sheetmetal with the screen near flush so I can light it from the front but have it look integrated into the "cluster" which will be just a tach, turn signals, and high beam and neutral lights, though I wouldn't mind putting the gas guage in there too if I can make it look good. Maybe since it only reads on half the guage I could slice up the guage into a crescent shape so it'd fit up against the tach. Noooiiiice!
