    Vacuum hose for petcock

Anybody know if I can replace the petcock vacuum hose (normally 4.5mm ID I believe) with some stock 5/32" vacuum hose at Autozone? ID is a little smaller but think it may work. Next size is 7/32"... not sure why they don't have 3/16"

It's available on Ebay. But to answer your question yes or, get some Tygon instead. It's the fuel line used on gas trimmers.

Whynot just get OEM vacuum hose. For less than $20 you can get a lifetime supply!

I'd say if you can get it on securely on both ends and it's a reasonably thick-walled hose it will be fine, it's only vacuum and not a lot of it. I have grabbed whatever fits, like some spare fuel line which is pretty stout and never had any issues.

1 foot from Autozone is $1.99. A bit more on eBay. Just thought I could pick this up today and this was something that a little cheaper wouldn't hurt.

I've been thinking what Tom said. Anything that will seal at the ends should work
