    Stock headers with modern mufflers

I have a 1982 GS550 with stock exhaust, I want to keep the stock headers and replace the two mufflers with modern ones. I don’t want to switch to a 4 into 1. Anyone do something like this on any GS?

I haven't on a GS but have used Mac slip-ons on a couple of Honda 750s due to them rusting out and costing a fortune to replace. They do the job and I think they are the most viable solution. There are some new Niche slip-on megaphones on eBay for the 550 for $350 and a NOS set Mac of turnouts for only $150, which seems quite a good deal if you don't mind (or like) turnouts.
