Mikuni carbs fuel transfer tubes leaking GS 750
Had the carbs off to re-jet them. Got an o-ring set from a member here which included o-rings for the transfer tubes, but my tubes have a rubber sleeve over a copper tube, no place for the 0-rings. Is there a source for these tubes? Or a way to modify them to work?Tags: None

Are yours leaking? Soaking them in gasoline before re-installing them usually makes them swell up and seal.
If they are already installed, just leave the fuel turned on, with a catch tray, and they will probably seal up just fine. Although it may take a day or so.
Some on here have carefully cut a groove in the rubber to accept an O-ring, I've never had to do that!Last edited by 1978GS750E; 04-11-2025, 01:36 PM.Ron
When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

Stock carbs don't have copper link tubes with a rubber sleeve so it sounds like someone in the past have made their own .
Depending on year and model the link tubes are either turned aluminium with 'o'rings or cast aluminium with a bonded ribbed rubber coating.
Suitable replacements can be found on Ebay or a Google search.
There are options for aftermarket aluminium or brass links with 'o' rings or repair sleeves for the ribbed bonded type.Mikuni Viton Choke Plunger Seat Renewal.

If soaking them in gas doesn't work, I might have some brass parts. Gotta double check.Ed

Years ago someone posted they cut the molded rubber off the tubes and stacked orings on the meal base. I have done it after reading it and i confirm its a viable option.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Here's a pic of the repair sleeves for the bonded type rubber link tubes and tees.

These are in the UK but he posts worldwide.
Once your old rubber has been removed these just push on.
I've used them with no issues.

I buy these longer Tees from ebay, then shorten them down for use in Kawasaki flavor VM's that use dual feed fuel lines. They fit Suzuki VM26's and center feed type Kawasaki VM's.
There are dozens of chinese sellers of these parts. Quality is good for the most part, although I did receive an order one time where the Tees were made from steel, not brass. The long Tee in the below photo is one such steel part. The shortened ones are brass.
If you shop around, they can be found for about $9 each. One thing is that the O-rings are sometimes iffy on aftermarket fuel tee and transfer tube parts. Don't use the O-rings if you get any that are brown.
