Installed 89 gsxr carbs today
Installed carbs today with dyna 2000 ignition.Fired right up idles good rolling throttle slow revs fine. from idle to 4ooo rpm whacking the throttle it bogs and spits fuel . Havent gotten K&N 2922 air cleaners yet. Im thinking rich so idle to 4000 would be needles? Im 3rd clip down from top.2 3/4 out air screws 132.5 mains.Dyna 2000 i set timing @ 37.5 deg Ok? Should i change plugs and gap with new ign?Im running d9ea stock plugs now.Didnt sync yet waiting for filters.Just went up and down street definatly has more snap, Once fine tuned i know i will be grinning for sure.So any advice from anyone running simalar set up would be appreciated. Not familar tuning gsxr carbs. What setup is working for you

Just a quick question ... is this on your GS250 or a bored-out 1400 kit?
Another question ... do you have any kind of filter on the intakes? That could make a difference in tuning.

GSXR1100 carbs right?
I am running the same set up on my 1085, K&N filters, Cut and ported head, web cams, 4 into 1 exhaust. I am still fine tuning and it has been cold and wet here for a week so I haven't ridden my latest set up. I have started with a Factory Pro jet kit for the GSXR 1100. Inspection of the emulsion tubes are a MUST!! These carbs are known for wearing the stock tubes and it causes a rich condition. My tubes were so bad I don't know how the preveious bike evan ran!!
What are you running for a pilot jet? What kind of plug coloring are you getting?

Try 34 degrees for the advance.
Get the main jet dialed in so you can hit redline with good color on the plugs.
Then get rid of the stumble on the needle with good color on the plugs
Then dial in the pilot circuit. This will be rich with a stock head so good luck.Last edited by chef1366; 04-20-2010, 02:21 AM.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

The emulsion tube--or needle jet-- is what the needle slides into. Remove the slide and main jet and push up with your fingers. Inspect for ovaling or wear.
