Mixture Screw is moving!
Ok thanks to all of those that have helped me in the tuning of my carbs it was a interesting endeavor. Three sets of plugs later I now know that plug chops tell you so much about how an engine is running? My first actual questin is that at 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw works pretty good but the screws seem to adjust themselves in while riding. How should I go about solving this? Loctite seems a bit extreme? My second question is one that involves finding a replacement signal flasher unit? I tried everything AutoZone had to offer can someone give me a part number or a site. Im sure every body has had this problem. Oh yea here is my bike I finally took some pictures of it I should have taken one when I first got the bike two years ago. The PO had it rigged up to run but not well.Tags: None

could the springs behind the needles be broken, weak, or maybe missing??MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550
NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Hi,
I used a Tridon Stant EP34 electronic flasher. I installed a socket too. Or you could go without the socket and just put some female blade connectors on the wires. I got the parts at Pep Boys. See my little write-up:
Turn Signal Relay Replacement
You've got a nice looking bike!
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

You could also use a wrap of teflon tape on the threads of the screw to keep it from self-adjusting. Easy-peasy.

I plan to seal mine over with clear RTV when I finish the adjustments. Not as permanent as the paint Suzuki used, will keep the screws in place and be easy to remove.http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ine=1440711157'78 GS1000E, Dyna-S ignition, Dyna Green Coils, K&N pods, Delkevic SS 4-1 exhaust, Dynojet Stage 3 jet kit, Russell SS Brake Lines, Progressive suspension, Compu-Fire series Regulator 55402 and Advmonster cree LED headlight conversion.
