1100 from '86 to '92 and also continued in the Bandit series.
Now the '88-'89 750 had a much shorter stroke than the rest. I believe the block height is maybe 1/4" shorter than the long stroke 750?
Now the water cooled 1100's from '93-'98 are taller than the air/oil 11's. Maybe this is what you have? Even the oil pans are different.
Now upon looking at my stuff, I am considering using a Busa stock header and modifying it for another project along with modifying the flange holes. Spacing is off, but a little tweaking could make it work.
Any other thoughts to all this?

In the US at least this is what we got for Oil Cooled GSXRs:

    Slabbie:
    1st Gen GSXR 750 85-87
    1st Gen GSXR 1100 86-88 (1052cc)

    Slingshots:
    2nd Gen GSXR 750 88-92
    2nd Gen GSXR 1100 89-92 (1127cc)

After this are Water cooler and have different spacing but can be modified if you are good enough.

You might also want to check out the modern GSXR 1000's The Ti headers are very cheap (under $100) and they have been putting those onto some 1st Gen GSXR 1100's which are very close in vertical length to the GS1100E

You ca nsearch over at Gixxer.com in the oiler section
1985 to 1991-2 Model Air/Oil Cooled GSX-R's. the first GSXR's and the last "Real" GSXR's

Simple mod between oil cooled GSXR and GS is to accomodate the wide exhaust stud spacing of the GS. All pipes don't work but you have to deal with this if they will fit.

      best fit

So it's my understanding after reading all this and others is that the 86 to 92 1100 gsxr pipe will fit the gs 1000 the best without mods and maybe some bandit pipes too. Thanks for all the info just want to make sure I'm on the right track. I know I will have to slot the mount some.

        Pipe

Well, kind of. Except for the spigot O.D. and the flange.
Jim, I got lost as to where we all were going with the header thing. What really is the difference between the '86-'88 and the '89-'92 1100 headers? Is the end pipe? Or is the collector in a different place because the oil pan is different?
Okay, made everyone crazy. Time to sleep.
