    Petcock ...HELP!!!!

I bought an adapter plate and a manual petcock for my '78 GS10000. I see that for it to fit I will need to make the hole in the tank larger. I have read where some of you have filed the hole out but could this not cause a spark inside the tank? Fumes? What about filling it up with water and filing? Any suggestions please, I wanta ride....

Unless you're filing at 100mph you'll be safe.

Empty the tank, wash it out with water and you'll be fine. When you're done, spray liberally with WD-40 then put some gas in it, not much, swish it around, empty and fill with gas. You're done.

        Good luck.
