    Fuel Tank

I got my '78 gs1000 that i have been working on out for a ride this evening. I can hear the sending unit float bumping around on the inside of the tank. Is this normal? i thought it was something worse till i shut her off and when I put her on the center stand i heard the sound coming from inside the tank. Will I need to take the sending unit out to fix this? The gauge is not working either even though my ohm meter says everything is OK.

    Hi,

The float should not hit anything inside the tank. I wonder if the float came loose? Anyway, it won't hurt to take a look. Here's an article that may help you. I found it on some guy's website.

        Hi,

Why don't you go for a nice long ride first?
