    Not starting after reassembly.

Hello, I have an 82 GS 650 E. I took the carbs off to replace the intake boots. Now i am trying to get it started for the 1st time. I had the two wires from the tank not pluged in so it did not turn over but this is now fixed.

I think all hoses are correct per the website & Diag., Also the bike ran before I did anything.

Any sujestions would be helpfull. thanks

    Did you prime the carbs?

You didn't clean the carbs while you had them off? First, make sure you have fuel in the bowls. Choke it, turn it over with the starter, then pull a spark plug and smell it for fuel. If there's no fuel smell, you're going to have to check your petcock. If you've got fuel, check for spark, ground a spark plug on the head to see if you've got a good strong spark. It has to be either fuel or fire stopping it. Make sure your airbox boots are tight so you're not drawing to much air.

        Hi,

Your bike should turn over even without the tank installed. Are you sure you got all the hoses and wires connected properly? Check my website for a manual and for the hose location article. See the air intake repair article too.

        Thank you for your indulgence,
