GS850 CV carbs question
Hello all, i have got GS850 1980 which i know probably upset some of you as a Hard tail chop. it has been off the road for a few years and i am in the process of rebuilding it . At present the bike turns over but no fuel. Took carbs float bowls off and there is allot of corrision and scale around floats etc. jets both fuel and main air jets are clear but the ports are not. What i have got is a set of cv carbs of a GS550 which are spotless now and here comes the question will these carbs fit onto the gs850 if i use the rails of the 850's one to give the correct spacing's required and obivous change the main jets which mine was running on 135 and 200 on main pilot air jets due to exhaust system running on . if anyone can help i would be gland.Tags: None

Greetings and Salutations!!
Hi Mr. pauls toy,
The GS550 also uses Mikuni BS32SS carbs, same as the 850. But they will have to be jetted properly. You'll find most of the numbers HERE. In your "mega-welcome" you will also find lots of links explaining the recommended procedures to get your bike running great. Check out the maintenance lists to be sure you get everything required for GS bliss.
Anyway, I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.
