Source for gas cap gasket?
Hey Folks....Here I am with another question. I've discovered that the rubber gasket on my gas cap has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. I'm having trouble finding the part online......any suggestions? Oh....the bike is a 1982 GS 650GL

I don't know of any replacements available. If you take it apart, you'll find that the gasket is actually sort of hat-shaped, so you can't just cut your own out of rubber.
You can get a new aftermarket gas cap here for $26.95:
I don't know if you'd be able to re-key or transplant the key guts from your old cap into the new one to avoid carrying two keys -- it may not be a close enough match internally.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
