1979 GS550, where can I get the Main Jet holder?

    Hello,
Does anybody know a source to get replacement main jet holders? Jets were over tightened and now it all messed up! The needle doesn't move properly anymore. Is this the part i will need? Whats the proper name, or the part number-HELP!!
    Thanks,
    DG

this looks like a good site though I do no tknow if they have the specific parts you need

or perhaps they are the breather pipe listed at this link
i have nary a clue what a breather pipe is or the need for confusing terminology
the main jet looks like it screws into this piece 17 on the list and in the fiche

      Hi,

The parts fiche at www.alpha-sports.com is quite informative. Let's see if I can get you close with this link:

Buy parts at a low price for your snowmobile here at Alpha Sports, we carry a LARGE variety of parts and accesories.

Do you mean #17 perhaps? It's called a "Breader Pipe" in the fiche.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff

Thanks guys, i owe you! It doe slook like its that breathe pipe deal, interesting name? The suzuki part is #13385-47030, unfortunately there $20 a peice! Is this something i could have a suzuki dealer get for me? Would that take forever? Thanks again,

im sure a dealer could get it but these would be a fairly low volume item and are likely stored by a kendo master in hammatsu in back of the suzuki factory

Likely the dealer could not get it faster and unlikely in the extreme that they could do it cheaper

but the call to your local guy will be fre and its well worht the effort.

              Hi,

You may want to compare the dealer price with prices from www.partshark.com or www.cyclepartsnation.com. You'll pay a little more to the dealer but you won't have to pay shipping. If the price is pretty much a wash between the two, I will sometimes order from my local dealer in the hopes that I can build some kind of relationship.

                  Hi,

You will wait at least a couple of weeks for an order from Partshark, sometimes three. All the vendors get their parts from Japan. I don't know how they do it, but I seem to get my parts a little quicker from BikeBandit, but they are a little more expensive.

                    Hi,

Yes, you are correct. However, BikeBandit does not use Suzuki part numbers. I'm just trying to help.

Your lucky day friend, I've got some of those jet holder thingies you can have for free. A couple of them are greenish but nothing that won't clean up, plus the other two are better. Send me a PM to discuss further.
