HELP need 4 fuel needles but where to buy them?

I have a 79 gs 1000 with vm carbs and I have been haveing a hard time tuning it since I bought it so last night I tore the carbs apart which have a dyna jet 3 put in them since my bike also has pods and 4 into 1 exhaust. I found that 3 out of 4 fuel needles were broke off in the carbs and the 4th was bent like someone before me really mashed them down at some point. I got them all out using compressed air and help of a wire brush wire to poke it out. I went to the suzuki dealer today and it's not shown on there computer and when I look in bike bandit it's the same readout I saw at the dealer. I need them to get my bike back together and really don't want to spend 25.00 per carb for a rebuild kit they don't need. Everything else looks good and the bike ran ok for not have the fuel needle working but was lean so thats why I tore them apart. Any help finding them new or if someone has some used ones that would work aswell.

A side note my carbs have dyne jet 138 mains and 15 pilots with the needle 2nd from the top does that sound right? I looked at the set up sheet that came with the bike and the guy did what it said? I just thought I might lower the needle to be safe?

I'm also putting in new o rings into the boots since the ones in there were original abd cracked which also helped my lean condition but the boots look ok and flexible and no cracks. I've also done a valve adjust and my petcock works great and I also tested it. Thanks for the help. I'm in a pickle and don't want to have to make the needles I have work which might be possible with a drill and sandpaper to put a pointy back on them?

Usually you need to buy carb kits to get them.. But not all kits come with them. K&L yes Keister NO!! CHeck with Z1enterprizes.com they may still have them separately.

            anyone

No other suggestions for fuel needles? I would hate to buy a whole rebuild kit for just the needles.

The Keyster kits have them... Jet Needle 5DL36-3

Good luck trying to find a source for individual needles. Might as well just buy a new DynoJet kit.

                Hi,

                How about http://www.sudco.com/ ?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just searched the entire Sudco catalog for "5DL36-3" and found nothing.

                  fixed

Well I thought I would try to fix the needles. I put them in a high speed drill then spun them against a fine file on the tip to get a point again and tried to make a nice smooth taper. Then I emory clothed them to a nice finish. I put them back together and WOW does it run great. It was really cold blooded before since it was lean and now it starts right up and comes off choke in 30 seconds. Idles smooth as silk and revs thru the range great. Did some plug chops last night and I'm really close now and allittle fine tuning and should be perfect. Very happy and reenergized about the whole bike. Thanks for everyones help and I've worn out the search function on this site I think.

Did notice allittle clutch slippage last night during full throttle plug chops and thats after I already installed new oem springs . I can tell in the lever that I don't have much clutch left so time for friction plates. It's a good problem to have in my mind at least I'm making enough power now to make it slip allittle and it's a easy fix.

Good work there. How about posting a photo of your refurbished needles?
