    airbox compatability

getting a long lost 1985 gs550e a friend had in the shed for years.

got it started today but it wont stay running, the carbs were cleaned but maybe not good enough, other problem is the stock airbox is gone, so the carbs are open to the outside . was thinking maybe wont stay lit cause its too much air, so i need a new airbox. long story short question.

will the airbox from a 1985 gsx550ef fit a 1985 gs550e , i think it might be the same box but wanta make sure before buying it

I'm pretty sure they will interchange. Babbits lists both airbox assemblies as13700-43413. You should be good to go.
