    petcock problems

So I just installed my petcock on my repainted tank for the first time in two years. It worked fine back then, but today there's a slow leak. It was only apparent after I filled the tank nearly to the top

I'm still going to put it on my bike and get it to run/sync the carbs. Can I plan on the carbs not leaking immediately? I do plan on taking the tank off again and siphoning the rest of the gas out (aargg!) .

Which is the best solution for the future-a rebuild kit, or a new universal petcock? (there is a tiny weeping leak at the petcock switch as well)

Please excuse the initial panic attack, I just checked the tank an hour later and the leak is gone!!(????)

I guess it's fine now? I'll take it off the bike later after it's been running with the vacuum hose connected and see if the leak reoccurs.

It may stop leaking as the seals swell slightly with the addition of the fuel.

As for the rebuild petcock question, I otta kick you square in the *******!

Trying to start trouble, are you?
