Petcock working?
Is there a way for me to tell if the petcock is working while not hooked up to the carbs? My carbs are getting worked on right now and i would like to make sure everything else working before they are done.Tags: None

If you have a vacum type petcock you can put it in prime ad suck a bit on the vacum hos and gas should start to flow. Then put it in the on position and do the samme thing and you should get gas to come out that way too.I didnt do it I swear !!

Do like kparkfan says. The different setting should work like this:
Prime: Apply vacuum once and fuel should keep flowing.
Run: Fuel should flow only as long as vacuum is applied.
Reserve (if you have it): Same as run.Dogma

If the diaphragm fails fuel will go back down the vacuum line and into the carbs/engine. Using clear tubing will help you see if you are getting this reverse flow.Ed
