GS 450 Missfire
My GS450 started occasionally miss firing on the right side. One of my friends told me it sound like it was flooding out and to clean my carbs. So I did a good clean and put them back on only find it's still miss firing. Not sure what else could be wrong. It seems to only miss fire at lower RPMs or if I'm pushing it really hard. Oh top of that my bike loses power and dies on the highway @ 65 mph. Any advice would be helpful. Thank youTags: None

What I've done
The carbs I cleaned using part cleaner (Leavin them in for about a day each). As for testing. I've done no testing on it as of yet (Not real sure where to even start on Testing)

Hi,
I put your "mega-welcome" in your other thread. It contains just about everything you'll need to restore your bike to its original, safe, reliable, bullet-proof condition.
But for now, your description makes me think "failing petcock", "improperly cleaned carbs", or "some grunge in the tank clogged the carbs". But if you go through the maintenance lists in your "mega-welcome" you will address most of the issues that affect these bikes. Remember, they are 25+ years old and need some TLC. Don't take shortcuts or you will get frustrated. Keep us informed.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

Or in the ER! My 450L was doing the same thing and apperently got a bit of just vapor through to the head and tried to shoot out from under me in an "S" curve and I ended up with a baseball-siezed goose egg protruding from my forehead
