    carb spacing

I have a 82 gs650E, it has the mukini bs32ss carbs. One of the float pin legs broke so I ordered a set of 32mm off of an 82 750 from E-Bay and I was going to use all the internals from my carbs in the 750 bodies. The 750 bodies are spaced wider.
Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the spacing on these carbs?
    Thanks

Just replace the broken carb on your 650 set with the corresponding carb from the 750 set after changing the jets.

The carb spacing is determined by the mounting rails and the transfer tubes for the fuel and vents. As Suzuki_Don says, just take the rack apart, substitute the carb you need, put the rack back together with the proper jets.

Since you are going to have the rack apart, this is a good time to ask yourself "how clean are my carbs? Wouldn't this be a good time to dip them and refresh them with new o-rings?"

Highly recommended to clean them thoroughly, unless you have done it recently. New o-rings are mandatory in the process, they are available from forum member Robert Barr at www.cycleorings.com.

Great, thanks for the responses. I had already bought the o-rings from him. Do the numbers on the flaps have to all match? Or would that be a problem?

          "Numbers on the flaps"?

          What numbers? What flaps?

Sorry. The throttle flaps that are all connected by the throttle rod on the intake of each carb. One set of carbs have 135 stamped on each of the flaps, the others i think are 125.

I ended up using the 2 outside carbs and things turned out good.
              Thanks
