    Gs1000 carb choice???

    Hi,

Just hoping for a little advice i have removed my engine for a strip down (78 Gs1000 hc) and have a spare which i would like to put in, it is a later engine with bigger ports and my inlet rubbers do not fit i can make them fit but would the later engine run with my old carbs or do i need different carbs if so what carbs could i use??

    Thanks

It will if you make some adapters. The later head flows more so you may need to rejet

The large port head bikes take 34mm CV BS Mikuni carbs. If you find some they will be a straight bolt on, although the forward section of your airbox won't fit.
