    what happens if you don't plug the vacuum on carb #2

    found that my petcock is damaged and have ordered a new one. Looking through my old parts from other bikes over the years and put on a non vacuum petcock. flows great for now. What happens if you don't plug that vacuum on carb #2, out of curiosity? Vacuum leak?

      I know it's a bad idea, but I'm asking why. Does it create a vac leak? Does it cause it to pull less fuel? I didn't ask should I, I asked what happens.

      I've already plugged it, because I assume there's all sorts of stuff that can get sucked in, but I'm curious to how it affects the carb operation, for my own knoweldge.

        Open vacuum port,yeah it's a giant vacuum leak.Will lean out that cylinder big time.Happy you did plug it.Worse case it could lean it enough to seize it.Overheat it for sure.

            It'll run like crap.

              "Leak" usually implies something small.

              I don't think the term would apply in this case.

              I think "vacuum DUMP" would be more appropriate.

                    One cylinder running like crap usually makes the others trying to compensate run like crap as well.

                    At least as he said it was a what would happen not a should I plug it question.
