    Fuel Cap Gaskets

Does anyone know of a good outlet, or creative solution, for replacing fuel cap gaskets? The local Suzuki shop and Bikebandit don't carry them--they only supply the whole fuel cap.

This is for a 1981 GS1000GL by the way.

    Thanks in advance.

Since a new cap is rather pricey and would require carrying another key, how about just getting a used cap and moving the gasket to your cap?

I've considered that, but I'd like to get as new as rubber as possible. Thanks.

I've never had a problem but considered that dilemma a short while ago while I was buying gas. If 'push came to shove', I think you could probably make one that would work quite well.

I'm not surprised, at all, that you can't buy just the gasket. Those Japsters are way too smart for that!
