    V&H install onto a 81 GS750L...

So Ive run into a snare on my install of my New V&H pipes onto my GS 750L. The first most noticble thing is that the brackets for the header bolts seem to be no where near flush with the engine, they sit probably 1/2 inch at best above the motor, stock exhaust flanges were flush and utilized 2 spacer brackets to flush up the exhaust... I can't imagine its suppose to look like this but I just need some insight in intsalling this beast. The pipe was listed as a GS1100 pipe but the install paper said it would fit my year and model. I'll post pics soon.
    Thanks!

The flanges do not need to be flush to seal. They just need to be secure. As long as your bolts are long enough to get an adequate number of threads into the head you will be fine.

Alot of people replace exhaust bolts with stainless ; use some anti seize if you do. You have gaskets up inside each port right? It is the end of the pipe that seals against the gasket.
