    Yes it still has the vacuum operated petcock. I had already checked the vacuum hose for fuel when the problem first occured...none. the fuel output doesn't leak either. But I just smelled the crankcase and it smells like fuel...guess I need a new petcock? Seems like there are varying opinions on whether to replace or rebuild, I tend toward the rebuild, unless it truly is a waste of time.

    Just went out and checked the vacuum hose again, there is a very small amount of fuel in it. I swear there wasn't a few days ago when this problem came up.

      The rebuild kits don't seeem to work... Get a new one and live happily ever after... don't forget to change the oil...
