So, assembling my carbs back together and I notice that my breather hose is nonexistant. How, I don't know. Now, I'm gonna look for a new hose of course, once I figure out what ID it is. however, might the missing breather hose be the reason for my minor hanging idle problem? I'm assuming it's created a leak in the intake system, allowing fresh air, and not excess exhaust gas or whatever it is coming out of the breather. Could I just plug it for now?

I don't think that the breather hose missing would cause a hanging idle. That is usually the result of an air leak on the intake, ie, cracked intake boot o-rings or the intake boots themselves being cracked.
The breather hose should just connect to a spot on the top of the airbox, at least this is where it goes on my 1100GL.
Most importantly DO NOT plug the breather outlet on the top of the valve cover, this will cause pressure to build in the top end. Possibly causing oil leaks or at worst, blow a gasket or other bad news items I don't know about.
Wouldn't hurt to maybe zip-tie a bit of rag around it just to keep debris from entering into there until you get the hose to reconnect it to the correct spot though. -

I beleive that is what folks do when converting to pod air filters. That hole in the airbox being open may lean it out enough to cause the idle hang, I didn't think about that.Originally posted by Rein View PostComment
