    Aftermarket Exhaust on 1982 GS1100E

Hi all! Does anyone know if a GXSR-750 first gen D&D aftermarket 4-2-1 exhaust will fit a 1982 GS1100E. It's in great shape except the slip on has been damaged and will the new models (like Yoshi,D&D, V&H ect.) fit that pipe? Should be standard size I would think. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

IIRC, the GSXR 1100 1st Gen 4:2:1 D&D hangs a little lower that a "tight fit" (maybe .75" below the oil pan) I have some pics at home and can check. So you might be dealing with a very tight fit but it will probably fit.

The down tube OD will be a little smaller and you will have to open the flange hole spacing

Ok I think this is what U are saying. The D&D GSXR1100 pipe hangs .75 below the GS1100E oil pan. But the D&D GSXR750's should fit tight up against the oil pan. Isn't that what I would want? Also the flange hole spacing U are talking about is where it bolts to the head. Thank again for your help!

Yes the 750 engines are shorter than the 1100's but some manufactures sell the same pipe for both bikes so it is probably not more than 1 inch but I have never measured it a 750 only an 1100 D&D pipe.

Just saying that if the 1100 D&D I have is hanging low by 0.75" on an 83 1100E then, I'm guessing it is possible the 750 D&D pipe might just be long enough to fit very tight to the pan.

The issue really has more to do with the particular pipe manufacturer as they vary some.

        The 1st Gen 750 pipe will fit a 83+ 700-750E/ES

A tight fit is what you want unless it is so tight it doesnt fit . If the pipe is a good deal I would probaly try it. Of course D&D is not the most popular pipe with GIXXER guys, but someone with teh GS700-750 would likely be intested if it did not fit the 1100.

Yes exhaust port flanges need to be cut.
