Runs fine at high rpm then dies

I bought a 1980 GS1000 a few days ago, spent a little time getting her running today. After it warms up and the choke is off it revs up for a few seconds comes down to idle speed, then dies. I can restart it and hold the throttle over 1500 and it runs just fine. I'm thinking clogged idle jets, anyone have any other ideas?

The tank was drained and it was ran out of gas before it was stored a couple years ago, also.

Have you already cleaned and synced the carbs? How are the valve clearances? Welcome to the site.
