    exhaust information please!

Hello to everyone. I am looking for information on MARSHALL DEEPTONE exhausts,as you can see in the pic I have a GS1000 with a GSX1100EZ engine installed, it has pod filters,117.5 main jets(up from 107.5 as standard),standard pilot jets and the needles are standard and on the middle of the 5 grooves. The exhaust is a MOTAD 4-1 which gave up on me today-cracking all round where the collecter is welded into the endcan, what I would like to know is has anyone fitted one of these DEEPTONE exhausts to a similar engine and did they have to mess with the jetting or any other mods that are needed, also do they come with collars to attach them to the head or do I have to cut up the MOTAD headers to get the ones on it off?

    Hi,
i bought a gs1000 with a dunstall 4into1 on it.i had the stock airbox with the stock filter in it.The jetting was 2 size up if i remember correctly.the dunstall come with casted headers flanges.you will have better luck with guys on your side of the pond, i,m probably the only one around here with a dunstall full exhaust.

No need to cut the headers to retrieve the collars. On a Motad the headers are a push fit in to the collector; one is held in tight with a clamping bolt. Undo this and twist the headers out (might be tight after a few years of sitting in there).

To save buying a whole new pipe you could just get the silencer and reuse your existing headers.

Thanks, I'll have to look up Jama silencers to see if I can make one of theirs fit (probably cost less than the £299 that Marshall want for a complete system).I will have another go at welding the fracture up again, this time with the mig instead of the oxy/acetelene I used last timethink I will get better penetration it just looks terible if there isn't enough metal to weld to-but thats just me!
