Carb sync
I borrowed a set of gauges to sync the carbs on my 80 750E, is there vaccum setting number I am looking for on a particular carb? they are the dial type.Tags: None

No, some of the best gauges don't even have numbers.
Warm up the bike, verify the gauges are calibrated to each other.
The best way is to use a manifold to connect all four gauges to one vacuum source at the same time.
Adjust gauges as necessary so they all read the same amount of vacuum.
Connect the gauges to the individual runners, start the bike. Adjust idle up just a bit from normal.
The Suzuki manual suggests 1500-2000 rpm, but I like it lower, about 1200.
Compare the vacuum levels between #2 and #3. Adjust #2 so it matches #3.
Adjust #1 so it is just a little bit higher (about 1cm) than 2&3.
Finally, adjust #4 so it matches #1.
Note that when you adjust #1, the other levels will change, too.
Just keep going back and forth until they line up properly.
When you are done, the needles might be pointing to 10, they might be pointing to 20.
As long as they line up with each other, they would both be correct.
