What's the general consensus on Mikuni VM34 RS flat slide carbs? They are coming off a KZ1000 and I was thinking about using on the 1100E. I think they may be too much for the 750E and I already have a set of VM29SS carbs from a Canadian GSXR on it. Thanks.

Don't believe there is such a thing.
VM34 round slide carburetors are a totally different design than RS34 Radial Flat Slide carburetors.
Result. No general consensus.
Do you homework with the search feature and you will find;
Yes, RS34s are too much for an 81' GS750.
Billy has RS34s on his 85' GS700E, but it is a different engine than the 81' GS750.
Sure, RS34 radial flat slides would work on the 83' GS1100. Not sure of the results because I'm too lazy to look it up.
If you are quoting the "Mikuni VM34 RS flat slide carbs" off an ebay add, it is either the seller is just using the words as "tags" or the seller has no clue to what they are selling.
I would be cautious if you are not sure what the difference is by looking at carbs, as to what they actually are.
Not saying you don't, but posting "Mikuni VM34 RS flat slide carbs," it is questionable. Just be careful.

Thanks. Yes I was referring to the ebay listing. After doing a little more research I don't think I really want to mess with them. No sir, I do not know how to identify carbs just by looking at them yet, but I am trying to learn. The carbs currently on my 750E are the first set of non-stock carbs I've delt with. No problem. The "VM34 RS flat slides" just stuck out. Just hate to see you get burned if not aware what you are looking at.
This must be the e-bay add? At least posted as you posted.
They are Mikuni RS34s, but one of the bodies has a broken float post. Not really worth the trouble unless someone might want them for spare parts. They might work, but always the possibility of the float post screwing up.

Those were the ones I was looking at. I've decided to keep the stock carbs that are on the 1100. They just need some jetting. The PO, who owned a mc repair shop, installed a V&H exhaust and pod air filters. He used aluminum duct tape to restrict air flow through the filters! So, either he didn't jet the carbs or he just used what he had laying around and it wasn't right. The bike runs great as is, just don't like that tape! Thanks againComment
