82 450 airbox cover

    82 450 airbox cover

    i have an 82 450e that is missing the airbox cover, was gonna make a custom cover for it, but do not know what size inlet i should put in it, now with it open and the filter on, seems like its getting too much air.i cant get it to idle right or run to good.

      I have an 81 450L. That should be the same or very close. The airbox intake is 3.125 square inches. An opening 3 1/8" x 1, or about 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" square, or a 2" circle would be good.
