1982 GS750T Tank Question
Do any other models have the same tank mounting? Mine is rusted to bits and am looking for something that will fit. Don't care about exterior just interior. Little rust is okay. I have a line on a 83 750 ES model. Does it fit? My T model has 2 mounting holes going vertically. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Tags: None

No one has any idea what will fit? Someone needs to start a spreadsheet so people can see what parts fit what different bikes. Thanks

Stevee, go out to the parts fiches like www.alpha-sports.com and get the part number from your bike, then go to any other site like www.babbittsonline.com and do a reverse parts number lookup. If it does fit on other bikes, than it will show up in the results listing. If not, than no.
Remember too that if you are handy with a welder, grinder, and other tools than you might be able to MAKE it fit.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

But to your original question. Lots of the Zooks have the same rear mounting tabs. The trick is the front mounts. You'll notice on your frame that there's another mounting point, forward of the ones used. I suspect, though I've never tried it, that welding a mounting stud and cushion at that location would broaden the selection of tanks to choose from. My GUESS is that a 1983 ES tanks won't work without serious modification. But before you give up on it, measure the distance between the front and rear mounting points and check against the replacement tank.
Seats and side covers are the same way unfortunately .
I've found seats on craigslist and eBay from time to time. I've bought two . The second is in transit and I hope it's a GOOD one .sigpic

Is it just the 82 and 83 that are the same? I thought it was 81-83. I might have a line on a 81 so I would like to know. I might just something on Ebay and weld/ hammer to make work. Thanks for help guys.

The 16 Valve GS750E was available in 1980 (year code T), 1981 (year code X, which I have) and 1982 (year code Z). The GS750EZ (this would be a 1982) differed from the previous years mostly cosmetically in that they returned to the round headlight and a different gauge pod. There were minor mechanical differences.
The E models tank-mounts are completely different than on the T. But hammers, tourches, and such might make anything work.sigpic

Parts Cross-Reference Software - For Suzuki and other motorcycles (a commercial product, about $25)
http://zedder.com/catalog.htm
Or use the procedure described below:
Alternate (Free) Parts Cross-Reference Procedure - using a couple of our favorite online resources.
1. Start here:
Buy parts at a low price for your snowmobile here at Alpha Sports, we carry a LARGE variety of parts and accesories.
2. Find your bike by year and model. Select the part you wish to reference.
3. Identify the part number, right-click and copy the part number.
4. Then use Babbit's cross-reference utility here:
5. In the pull-down menu labeled "Brands", select "Suzuki".
6. Right-click and paste the part number copied from alpha-sports into the line labeled "Search for".
7. Click "Quick lookup".
You are then presented with every model that the referenced part will fit.
Now let me share some GS lovin'.
I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

Buddy of mine who bought my 750T has a spare '82 tank he'd probably be willing to sell. Black/gray paint scheme and dent-free. Has a couple of scratches that got through the clear but I don't think they made it to metal. The inside was coated by the PO, but it would need to be re-done.
Haven't seen it for a couple of years, so this is a "best recollection" description.
