nope barn/workshop is fine. Heres some pics of the carnage. in this first one you can see where it lit on fine and how i had to drag it out into the snow to save the barn.. lack of an extinguisher.. if i had one, could have saved almost all of it.

I have decided that since this is a good bike, and a rare one too. I am going to rebuild it. I have already started to aquire a few parts but will be needing alot more. i wanted to buy the only parts bike within a couple hundred miles of me but it sold already. If any one wants to donate money feel free to or if you know where i can get some good baasic(cheap) parts as well thatd me great. am needing most platic (tubes and boots for carb and air box) most wire harness and electrical components. display. tires. etc. if anyone has any ideas, let me know. I really dont want this bike to die here, even though it looks like its already dead. the seat is slightely burnt but i managed to save alot of that. Thank you.

Looking at those pictures justs makes me sick. Your lucky you didn't have the tank on it and have it blow up. Now you got to sort through it to see what's good and what's not. All my spare parts are for GS1000E and GS1100E, it they would fit I'd send them to you.sigpic

This is where the hard part begins, coming up with an inventory of parts that you need for that '79 GS750L. Obviously a wiring harness, front turn signals, guages, headlight shell? coils? spark plug wires? battery? relays?
Airbox, airbox boots, chain guard?, key switch? You probably want to come up with the parts that you need just to get it running and go from there.
If you were to put a list together, I'm think there's some folks here that
might be able to help, or at least help you find these parts.
As long as you got a good frame, tank, seat, you got something to work with.sigpic

You need to get the masses of our members behind you! Where you have this posted in the "Carb installation Problem" you're only going to get very limited viewing and therefore limited responses.
I would start a "New Post" in the Parts Wanted Classified section, with your story, the pictures, an appeal for help getting these parts, and title it with something like "GS 750 Caught Fire, Need Parts!" and you should be able to get some help.
I'll be looking for your post there!sigpic
